INSTITUTIONAL ETHICAL COMMITTEE

Ethics committees review research proposals involving human participants and their data to ensure that they agree with local and international ethical guidelines. They also monitor studies once they begin and—if necessary—may take part in follow-up actions after the end of the research. Their main responsibility is to protect the subjects involved in the study and also consider the possible risks to the community and the environment. Ethics committees have the authority to approve, reject, modify, or stop studies that do not conform to the accepted standards.

RESEARCH COMMITTEE

Function:

It aims to Cultivate, Design, and Execute high-quality multidisciplinary research in the institute. It makes the members of the faculty informed of the schemes of UGC and other funding agencies. The committee also makes sure that the proposals are submitted in time and proper follow up actions are made. The Research Committee offers timely and complete critical appraisal and technical guidance to the submitted research proposals. The review of the submitted research proposals is an in-house exercise, where an attempt is made to assess its feasibility, to improve relevance to the regional context, technical quality and ethical aspects of proposed research. The research committee, not only encourages Good Research Practice but also Good Authorship Practices at the institute.

ACADEMIC/ CURRICULUM COMMITTEE

Function:

The academic/curriculum committee comprises of a team of teachers who prepare the contemporary syllabi for different programs basing on the changing needs of the profession and the requirements of all courses with respect to the objectives of the college, stakeholders, societal/local/ national / regional/global developmental needs. It approves the curriculum and its structure for all the programs of the department and advises innovative pedagogical methods teaching and evaluation methods. It introduces the additional infrastructural facilities required to strengthen the Departments for the changing needs curriculum revision or introduction of new disciplines. The committee is also made responsible for collecting feedback from the students and the teachers, and suggests remedial actions if needed.
