Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology has been established with a vision to upgrade the science of Oral Pathology by producing well qualified graduates who are excellent oral pathologists, good researchers and thorough professionals. Oral pathology is the specialty of dentistry that deals with the nature, cause, characteristics, effects and diagnosis of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. The department provides patient oriented services like histopathology, cytology and microbiology and also serves as a source for research projects. The department is well equipped to train undergraduate and post graduate students. The curriculum is related to the overall development of the students in the dental anatomy, oral histology and to identify the pathological and microbiological aspects of the oral diseases.
