Public Health Dentistry department aims at preventing & controlling oral & dental diseases by creating oral health awareness by educating & motivating patients to brush correctly while giving up any destructive oral habits. This is done by conducting diagnostic camps & health exhibitions across urban & rural areas in Gujarat with the help of a mobile dental van & various educational materials like models, posters, flyers, games, videos & booklets prepared by the undergraduates which are a part of their curriculum. Students are taught to take clinical histories & measure severity of dental diseases & help in tobacco de-addiction. Participation in NOHP activities like survey & running satellite centres too is also carried out.
